How do you know if your house cleaner is trustworthy?

How do you know if your house cleaner is trustworthy?

It’s always nice to have a good, trustworthy house cleaner in your life that you can rely on. Nevertheless, sometimes it can be challenging to gauge your house cleaner’s level of trustworthiness.

Everything your house cleaner does convinces you to trust them, but how can you be sure? Trusting the wrong house cleaner can put your home and family at risk, so knowing the signs can really benefit you in the long run.

With that said, here are 5 signs that can help you recognize a trustworthy house cleaner.

1.) Your house cleaner is credible

Can your house cleaner do what they say they can do?

Credible

One of the drivers that drives trust is credibility.

Credibility is an essential component to grow and sustain trust.

Often, credibility comes in the form of transparency. Your house cleaner is honest about how they work and what products they utilize.

A trustworthy house cleaner will be highly skilled when it comes to cleaning. They have a lot of strengths and unique capabilities.

This means they are efficient at cleaning your bedrooms, vacuuming the house, mopping, making beds, dusting all surfaces, and so on.

A trustworthy house cleaner has the ability to understand their equipment so that they can get the cleaning done to the highest degree.

In essence, they pay attention to even the smallest details. They are there to make your life easier and run smoothly. In everything they do, they incorporate the values that they are exhibiting.

In most cases, an untrustworthy house cleaner will ignore these crucial things.

2.) Your house cleaner is consistent across the board

Consistency

A trustworthy house cleaner remains true to themselves. Their character stays true with different people and in different circumstances. They’re good listeners and want to be supportive.

They do not put on a mask and feign their personality just to suit your personal preferences. They hold traits like compassion and humility. They think well of others and have a desire not only to help you but are ready to help others as well.

It would be a good idea to talk to your house cleaner’s past clients so you can get a more in-depth look at what your house cleaner is all about – not just what they claim to be.

When the way your house cleaner behaves at your house matches with what you hear from others, you’ll be able to easily point out if they’re trustworthy.

In a 1985 study, Rempel and others discovered that if someone is consistent with their behavior they’re more likely to be truthful and dependable. On the other hand, if someone is unpredictable they are more likely to betray your trust.

3.) Your house cleaner genuinely cares about you

Simply doing everything you told them to do does not mean your house cleaner is trustworthy. It just means they’re reliable.

Caring

A trustworthy house cleaner is naturally caring and respectful towards you. Overall, they’re thoughtful of you, respect your boundaries, and they don’t try to overstep their place in your life.

They don’t care about you for their own gratification. On the contrary, they genuinely care about you.

They have your best interest in mind and tell you the truth. You’ll find that you feel comfortable when you’re around your house cleaner.

When your house cleaner is trustworthy, they won’t try to take advantage of you. You don’t feel that they’re trying to hide things from you. In turn, you feel like you don’t have to hide anything from them.

With a mutual sense of trust established, you have the opportunity to talk to them about virtually anything.

After all, trust is human. It’s about human interaction and having real conversations.

4.) Your house cleaner holds themselves accountable

A trustworthy house cleaner can admit when they commit a mistake. They don’t attempt to justify their wrongdoings or push the blame onto others.

Accountable

Rather, they accept responsibility for their actions and face the consequences that result from their decisions.

They hold themselves accountable for any situation they don’t happen to follow through with. They’re not only accountable to you, but to others too.

Additionally, they do not react negatively when you point out what things they did wrong. According to a 2015 study by Rodriguez and others, negative reactions are a common sign of distrust. Someone that constantly reacts negatively is less likely to preserve your trust.

5.) Your house cleaner follows through with their actions

Integrity

Do you have faith that your house cleaner will show up at your house at the time they said? When you schedule a cleaning appointment with a trustworthy house cleaner, they won’t flake on you.

In other words, they have integrity. They have a set of values and live by those values.

Their word is paramount to them and they strive to hold themselves to it.

Granted, sometimes life can get overwhelming with responsibilities piling up so if your house cleaner fails to show up for an appointment once in a blue moon do not be quick to anger.

We all have friends that flake on us from time to time, yet we still trust them.

But if they constantly cancel appointments with you it might be a sign to start investing in a more trustworthy house cleaner.

You deserve respect too.

In conclusion

Trust is crucial because when we are surrounded by people that are trustworthy they will watch our back, watch our stuff, and look after our house while we’re gone.

Our survival depends on our ability to surround ourselves with people we can trust.

It can be difficult to find a house cleaner you can trust. You do not want to be betrayed because those feelings of bitterness and betrayal can haunt you for years and years.

So it is critical that you remember the 5 main factors that drive trust: credibility, consistency, caring, accountability, and integrity.

At the end of the day, don’t lose hope because there are plenty of trustworthy house cleaners out there.

You just have to take the time to find them.
